I think I said before that I happen to have a great deal of affection for this little amigurumi because once upon a time I had a real life daschund called Cabbage who was my best friend for 15 years.
Actually my (woman) best friend has claimed this ami, she fell in love with him when she saw him! The pattern makes a fun alternate gift for the holiday season or you could make him just because you love dachshunds like me!

i would like to win to make him for my severely autistic son. i have taught him to crochet for a stem to help focus his mind. he quickly surpassed me in thread crochet but when he tried ami his first pattern was a similar dachshund pup and he became so frustrated he could not finish it. we are too poor to buy lovely patterns and all of our wool comes from the thrift shop or gifts. i would just like to give him the doggie he wanted to make.
A village friend has written and illustrate a children’s book about a Dacshund – it would be lovely to make to go with the book!
My first Daschie, my best friend and companion, Brian,passed away in 2013 at the age of 13. I still miss him. I have resqued two since, Carlie and Benji….Daschunds are the cleverest and cutest there is. I love them…this pattern is to die for!
