Although my mum and Nana taught me to crochet when I was younger it wasn’t until I was pregnant with my eldest daughter that I properly picked up a hook to set about making something purposeful. The result was not only a pretty filet baby blanket (read more about that here) but a full blown obsession with crochet that I don’t think will ever go away!

Crochet is definitely my happy place and you can find me talking about all things crochet over on the blog. My favourite things to crochet are amigurumi, shawls and blankets; which I see as sort of little, medium and large depending on my mood!

I never thought, when I started this site at the end of January 2014, that I’d enjoy blogging so much and I’m so happy that so many of you seem to enjoy my musings! I do hope you enjoy your visit and I love hearing from my visitors, so don’t be shy!

I’ve also had the wonderful opportunity to work with yarn companies such as Deramores (which sadly closed in 2022) and Anchor Yarns to create some fun designs specifically with their yarns.

It’s also been a delight to work in collaboration with other designers and yarn houses such as Stylecraft for their Blog Tour 2016, It’s All in A Nutshell for her 2017 Nuts About Squares CAL, and more recently with some lovely hand dyed yarn for collaborative make alongs with The Yarn Whisperer.

Pattern Stuff:

Designing is definitely where my heart is; for me there is nothing like playing with yarn and seeing what develops! Here’s some FAQs:

• Yes you can most definitely sell finished  products made from my patterns as long as you don’t sell or reproduce the written pattern.  All I ask is that you include a link to the pattern with credit for the design (links below) – on the online listing if selling online, or on the tag if selling at a craft fair or in a shop.
• I write my patterns in both UK and US terminology. If it’s a free pattern on the blog then the patterns are written in UK crochet terms, some of my earlier patterns though might be written using both e.g. tr/dc (for UK treble and US double crochet) but the UK terms would be first. If it’s a pattern from one of my pattern stores (Ravelry, Etsy and LoveCrafts) then the newer patterns should include a link for both UK or US. For my the earlier patterns they would be written using both UK / US terminology.
• I have lots of free patterns as well as patterns available for purchase so take a look around; I hope you find something here you would like to make!

Pattern Stores:

I have been on Ravelry and LoveCrafts the longest so they have all my patterns listed. I’m slowly trying to provide more choices on where you can buy my patterns by adding them to Etsy and Ribblr, as I have a bit of a backlog of patterns the latter stores are taking me a little longer to populate! Please bear with me or feel free to contact me if you are having issues getting the pattern you want.
