Anchor Crafting | Time to Celebrate Magazine

In excited anticipation of our favourite time of the year, the folks at Anchor Crafting have put together a magazine which includes over 30 designs perfect for Xmas and the New Year – and I’m excited to say that I’ve got two brand new designs that have been included.

The first is a sweet Christmas ornament featuring a little crochet campervan carrying a Christmas tree.

I think this Christmas keepsake is perfect for nostalgic memories of bringing your Christmas tree home to decorate for the holidays.

The design was inspired by the type of ornament you often see of a vintage car or a truck carrying a Christmas tree – but what about if you have a campervan? So I drew a little sketch and I think the my campervan came pretty close to the look I was after.

As you can see by my notes, I used several shades of Anchor Creativa Fino, which is 100% mercerized cotton, 4ply natural fibre yarn. and Anchor Metallic yarn, which is a blend of viscose (80%) and metallised polyester (20%), which is just perfect for adding a bit of festive sparkle!. I used a 3mm (US size 5/0) hook with both yarns, and a trustly Chibi needle to help with the embroidery and sewing together. A perfect gift for any campervan owners or campervan coveters!

The second pattern I designed for the magazine was for a Christmas Drummer, who just makes me think of the Little Drummer Boy Christmas Carol (Pa rum pum pum pum!).

I used the same Anchor Creativa Fino and Anchor Metallic yarn as the Christmas campervan, though including some different colours, and again a 3mm (US size 5/0) hook to keep my stitches nice and tight.

I love how he turned out and I think he would make a delightful addition to your festive décor with his sparkly drum and uniform.

There’s a collection of over 30 seasonal projects in the Time to Celebrate Magazine; perfect for gifting, decorating your home and adding that glamourous finishing touch to any outfit. And it includes patterns for all skill levels from beginners to expert crafters.

As well as my designs there is a beautiful wreath to welcome guests at the door, lots of cheerful handmade accessories including sparkling trees, decorative garlands. There’s also Christmas decorations from baubles and snowflakes, to adorable hearts and stars, and even add a dash of luxury to your table setting with stunning place mats and table runner to ensure you dine in style. And as a finishing touch why not make a beautiful shawl or accessory to complement your outfit and bring a hint of festive glamour!
