Woolbox Free Patterns | Woolpup Gang

Hey folks, I’m delighted to tell you about the ‘ultimutt’ new collection of free crochet patterns I’ve designed in collaboration with Woolbox. Embark on a heartwarming journey with the WoolBox Woolpups collection, where imagination meets crochet in the form of cuddly canine companions.

Collage of the six different dog amigurumi patterns and kits available now from Woolbox - meet the Woolpups!

With six delightful options to choose from—St Bernard, Husky, German Shepherd, Border Collie, Saluki, and Dalmatian—there’s a Woolpup for every dog lover and crafting enthusiast.

I’ve tried to bring each Woolpup breed to life, in an accessible pattern, ready to become your faithful friend. Each Woolpup captures the distinctive features and personality traits of its real-life counterpart. From the St Bernard’s gentle expression to the German Shepherd’s inquisitive intelligence, these Woolpups are sure to melt hearts and bring smiles wherever they go.

For all of the pups I used Woolbox Imagine Classic DK (Double Knit / Light Worsted). If you aren’t familiar with this yarn it’s a smoothly spun 100% antipilling acrylic; anti-pilling just means that any project you make with this yarn should not ‘pill’ (go bobbly) over time.

Woolbox Imagine Classic DK is available in 24 different colours (and they are adding shades all the time), and I used several different colours for the pups with a 3.5mm (US size E/4) hook. Other than that you would need pairs of 12mm black safety eyes (two for each pup), some stitch markers, some toy fillerpins and a yarn needle to sew all the pieces together.

All the patterns are available for FREE from Woolbox as just the digital download for the pattern or as a yarn kit. I’ve added the link to my Woolbox Designer shop below where you can see all the pups (and all the other patterns I’ve designed for Woolbox).

The patterns are written in UK terms, but shipping is available worldwide. If you are not sure about UK terms then you might find my blog post British vs. American Crochet Terms: What’s the Difference? helpful. I’d also suggest that these patterns would best suit someone comfortable with working in amigurumi style, as they require attention to detail and shaping techniques.

Whether you’re a seasoned crocheter looking for your next project or a beginner eager to embark on a creative adventure, the WoolBox Woolpups collection offers something for everyone. So, choose your favourite breed, pick up your crochet hook, and let the paw-sitively flow with the WoolBox Woolpups collection.

If you make up any of the Woolpups I hope you will share your finished project photos with me on social media (facebooktwitter or instagram), or as a project on Ravelry – I love to see what you make! And finally you may wish to sign up to blog (below) and / or my mailing list to get a reminder when new blog posts, discounts or new pattern releases are available.

Until next time folks! Happy hooking and keep calm and crochet on my friends xx

With the help of different designers they are beginning to develop some FREE patterns of their own using their own brand of yarn – and I’m delighted to be helping them out with that.

You may remember I shared the Blue Rhino, and Pink Elephant amigurumi and now we’ve got a third ‘Jungle Friend’ crochet pattern to make.
