Free Pattern | Flowery Jewellery Set (with supporting video)

I’m happy to share with you today, the last crochet jewellery set that I’ve created in collaboration with the lovely folks at Anchor Crafts. This is the third and final set of three, the first was the Geometric Jewellery set, then there was the Leaves Jewellery set, finally we have the Flowery Jewellery set.

This pretty long necklace set is inspired by nature with two sizes of flowers that offer a touch of timeless elegance. Sitting gracefully around your neck, the necklace is created on one long beaded chain that can be made longer or shorter to compliment what you are wearing.

For my jewellery I used Anchor Freccia 6 which is 100% mercerized cotton 3ply yarn with a 2.5mm (closest US size C/2) hook. I used two shades for this set; 00968 Baby Pink and 00387 Cream but it would work just as well in a single colour – and the colour combinations you could create are endless.

If you don’t already have some jewellery finding to hand you will need some items to make your jewellery set. I have this set for earring hooks and this one for everything you need for necklaces – you might also find some small nose pliers useful too. Finally you will need some 40 x light pink beads if you want to make yours exactly like mine – I have a multicoloured set of beads that I used for my jewellery.

I love how pretty and delicate this set turned out; you would undoubtedly have enough yarn to make a set for a special friend or family member after you have made one for yourself!

The pattern for the Flowery Jewellery Set is a free download available directly from the Anchor Crafts website here where you can just download the pattern or register for an account. It doesn’t cost anything for an account, but by signing up you’ll gain access to loads of other free patterns by other talented designers too.

And if it’s the first time you’ve ever tackled crochet jewellery then you might find the tutorial that we’ve put together for the set extra helpful.

If you hook up any of the decorations I hope you’ll tag on Instagram using the hashtags #kcacouk and #proud2craft or #anchoryarns (so the folks at Anchor Yarns can see) or share your photos with us on social media (facebooktwitter or or as a project on Ravelry) – I love to see what you make!

Deramores Poppy Appeal 2021

For the second year running Deramores have partnered with the Royal British Legion to bring crochet and knitting communities together to raise money for the poppy appeal – and I felt quite honoured to be asked again to design some new poppy patterns for them.

The Poppy Appeal is the Royal British Legion’s biggest fundraising campaign held every year in November to conincide with Remembrance Sunday. This year, when the charity celebrates its centenary, Deramores are releasing a series of knit and crochet poppy themed patterns, to support serving and ex-serving personnel, and their families – and there are four new crocheted ones from me.

The first one is for a bouquet of poppies that could be a lovely heartfelt way to commemorate Remembrance as a centrepiece for a shelf or table in your home.

The Bouquet of Poppies pattern is not available separately only as part of a kit which comes with; Deramores Studio DK yarn, wire and the pattern. All you would need is a a 3mm hook, a glue gun, craft pliers, scissors and a yarn needle. I have included some step by step photos in the pattern for those of you that are unfamiliar with crocheting around wire – it’s a bit fiddly at first but when you hit your stride I think you’ll be fine.

The next design is for a set of two Poppy Mug Cosies, perfect for keeping your cuppa nice and warm and stop your fingers from burning on those takeaway coffee cups!

There are two designs to choose from (both included in the pattern); field of poppies or large traditional poppy. Both fit very nicely around my Dear Ewe mugs, but I’ve also included instructions on how you can adjust the height and diameter of the cosies to fit around different sized cups.

The pattern is available as just the pattern on it’s own or as a craft kit with everything you need to make both cosies in the Poppy Mug Cosy Set.

Finally I’ve designed a Poppy Wreath decorated with the traditional red poppy. You could hang it in your home or on your door for Remembrance or as an autumnal wreath.

The Poppy Wreath is not available separately only as part of a kit which comes with; Deramores Studio DK yarn, 30mm wooden wreath and the pattern. In addition to the items in the kit you would need a a 3mm hook, a glue gun, scissors and a yarn needle and some red ribbon or hessian ribbon.

So if you are a crafter you can help support The Royal British Legion this year by creating any one of the endorsed Deramores poppy digital patterns or kits. With every purchase of a poppy kit, Deramores will donate 10% of the RRP to the Royal British Legion to support the Armed Forces community, and for the purchase of any digital poppy patterns, they will donate 50% of the RRP.

As well as these new patterns you can also pick up my original poppy pattern or kit too.

Please share pictures of your poppies with on socials using the hashtag #DeramoresPoppy and #kcacouk so we can share your wonderful work.

Until next time folks! Happy hooking, keep calm and crochet on my friends xx

Happily Hooked Magazine | Gazania Clutch Bag

Disclaimer: This post contains affiliate links, when you make a purchase through these links I do receive a small commission – thank you so much for supporting my blog! 💗

This month Happily Hooked magazine is celebrating it’s 50th issue (congratulations guys!) and I’m very excited to have a exclusive design appear in this special edition. Let me introduce to you my new Gazania Clutch Bag.

You know me, I do so love a motif but I wanted to try something a little different and play around with three dimensions rather than two.  My inspiration came from nature, as it often does, as I was actually looking at some flower pictures for our garden when I came across this image of a Gazania flower.  I loved how the centre of the flower was framed by the outer petals but I didn’t want to create a crochet flower as such, so I thought if I stylised it a bit it could work really well as a fun 3-D motif – and I think it does.

I think my Gazania clutch bag would make a wonderful companion for a Spring or Summer wedding 🌼

The ‘motif’ edition of Happily Hooked magazine is filled with articles and interviews and the rest of the magazine shows you some amazing motif patterns in different styles, shapes, and stitches.

Check out the Happily Hooked Magazine website for more details about the magazine and how you can subscribe and I do hope you’ll add the Gazania clutch bag pattern to your 💗Favourites and Ravelry Queue here.

As always I hope you will share your finished clutch bag on your favourite social media sites: RavelryLoveCrochet.comFacebook page or Facebook groupTwitter,  Pinterest and Instagram as I love to see your finished work! And if you are featured in my newsletter, as the customer spotlight, you could win a pattern of your choice!

Well until next time, happy hooking and keep calm and crochet on my friends xx
