🎄New Festive Crochet Kits Are Here | Teddy Stocking, Angel and Santa

December is moving far too fast for my liking and I just haven’t had a chance to tell you about the new crochet kits I have in my Etsy shop! If you loved our previous seasonal ornament crochet kits (like the robin, Christmas pudding, reindeer, Christmas tree and gingerbread man ), this year I’m so excited to introduce you to three brand-new kits that will spread a little handmade magic wherever they hang. Two of them are brand new, fresh off the hook and never seen before, and one is a long-time show and pop-up shop favourite that’s finally landing in the online store.

Pin It for Later:

Three crocheted Christmas ornaments displayed: a Santa Claus, a teddy bear in a stocking, and an angel, all designed for holiday decorations.

🐻 Teddy Stocking – A Mini Surprise Inside

Meet the cutest stocking on the shelf: a soft, crocheted mini stocking complete with a removable teddy – perfect if you want to decorate the tree and maybe let someone adopt the teddy for their shelf or desk!

What makes this kit extra special:

  • A fully crochetable mini stocking, sized to hang neatly on your tree or fireplace.
  • A tiny, removable teddy that sits snugly inside – stitched separately so you can take it out and carry it around or gift it alone.
  • A mini present charm included in the kit, so you can attach a little “gift” into the stocking for a sparkle of holiday fun.

Whether you hang the stocking in December and then pass the teddy on as a sweet handmade gift, or keep both on display, this kit offers twice the charm for one joyful project 🎁

👼 Glitter-Halo Angel

Next up: a delicately crocheted angel, radiant with holiday cheer and ready to bring some festive sparkle to your tree (or home décor).

What’s in the kit:

  • Yarn for the angel’s body and gown in classic soft tones — plus special yarn with a subtle metallic/glittery thread for her halo.
  • A mini bell charm — so the angel can hold her little bell in her hands.

This angel adds an ethereal, twinkly touch to any holiday setup – especially lovely if you’re going for that cosy, handmade Christmas aesthetic.

🎅 Jolly St. Nick

Last but certainly not least: the kit you might recognise from fairs and shows, now finally online; our heritage-looking Santa – with a little extra charm!

With this kit you get:

  • A traditional, slightly vintage looking Father Christmas with carefully stitched facial details for a warm, nostalgic vibe.
  • A cute holly charm to attach to his hat – the finishing festive touch that brings him to life.

If you love heritage Christmas décor, this Santa will make a handsome addition, whether hung on a door, tree, or used as part of a larger handmade display.

Crocheted Santa ornament featuring a red hat with a pom-pom and holly detail, displayed on a wooden slice with evergreen foliage.

All the kits come with the yarn and materials needed including the twine for hanging – no need to hunt for anything. The kits also come packaged in a reusable clear bauble, ideal for gifting now, and once your crochet is proudly hanging on the tree, you can refill the bauble with chocolates, sweets, or a mini surprise to enjoy year after year.

The patterns are all written in UK terms, but shipping is available to anywhere. If you are not sure about UK terms then you might find my blog post British vs. American Crochet Terms: What’s the Difference? helpful.

Last domestic posting date for any of my crochet kits is this Friday 12 December for USA and Wednesday 17 December for the UK. Please shop early to avoid disappointment! I tend to send out orders as they arrive in as soon as possible, but I cannot guarantee how the post office delivery side will be at this time of year!

If you make up any of the crochet kits I hope you’ll share your WIP and finished project photos with me on social media (facebooktwitter or instagram) or as a project on Ravelry – I love to see what you make! And finally you may wish to sign up to blog (below) and / or my mailing list to get a reminder when new blog posts, discounts or new pattern releases are available.

Until next time folks! Happy hooking and keep calm and crochet on my friends xx

Merry Marble Cowl | The MAL Reveal & Pattern Release

The time has come, my crochet friends, to reveal the finished design for the Merry Marbles Makealong (MAL)! I’ve been bursting with excitement to share this colourful project, and now it’s finally here. Although the MAL was designed with fun and vibrant holiday vibes in mind, I think the cowl would be perfect for anytime of the year – in fact I’m already planning on making another one!

Pin for later:

Collage for Pinterest showcasing the Merry Marbles make-a-long, featuring images of completed rainbow cowl.

For those that weren’t aware this latest make-along was a collaboration between myself, Kitey, aka The Yarn Whisperer, and Mrs G Makes and was designed to be a perfect pop of colour for your winter wardrobe.

The Merry Marbles Cowl is a cosy yet lightweight accessory that combines playful stitches with a cheerful, rainbow design. It’s simple enough for adventurous beginners but has enough detail to keep seasoned crocheters entertained. Plus, the funnel shaped design ensures maximum warmth, making it as practical as it is pretty.

As always it’s been an absolute delight to work with Kitey and his gorgeously coloured yarn, I love these collabs we do – it always provides me with an opportunity to work with gorgeous yarn which in turn makes the design process super enjoyable.

The yarn choice for the Merry Marbles was a lovely mix of rainbow shades (red, purple, blue, green, yellow and orange) alongside a large 100g skein of sparkly natural yarn. The photos don’t do that twinkle justice, it’s just lovely and who doesn’t love a bit of sparkle in the festive season (or at anytime)!

Collage featuring hand-dyed yarn inspired by toy marbles, with skeins of undyed sparkly cream, and vibrant mini skeins of rainbow tones.

Kitey perfectly captured some excitingly vivid shades for the rainbow that were a joy to work with, and of course you didn’t have to use the colours as a rainbow you could place them in any order you wish.

Also in the kit, as always, were the cutest crochet accessories from the fabulous Mrs G Makes. Continuing the marbles theme Amanda created the sweetest set of ‘marble’ stitch markers which were such a useful tool when making this cowl.

Close-up of three stitch markers from the Mischievous Magpie make-a-long kit: beautiful bright beads that catches the light with a subtle shimmer like a toy marble, adding a playful touch to each crochet project.

Although the official end date of the MAL has come to an end DO NOT feel any panic or worry that you didn’t keep up or haven’t even started yet. The deadline was there just for those people that like a deadline, for everyone else, enjoy it when you have the time to use the yarn and / or make the shawlette – there is no rush to this crochet makealong! And sometime in the future you will have a beautiful finished object that you can gift for someone special or to enjoy yourself.

And of course it makes us all incredibly happy to see YOUR photos of the various stages of progress you make with your projects on social media – and I hope you will continue to do so as you finish your cowls’ if you haven’t had chance to make it or finish it off yet.

❤️ SAVE MERRY MARBLES COWL ON RAVELRY ❤️

Now that the MAL is over, I have listed the pattern in my usual pattern stores for you to make your own version of the Merry Marbles Cowl:

I would suggest 7 different colours and at least 220g would work best; e.g. 100g of cream, 6 x 20g of rainbow or different colours with a 3.5mm (Closest US size E/4) hook. The pattern includes a written version with supporting charts, detailed stitch explanations, and is available in both UK and US terminology.

We do hope that you’ve enjoyed this fun make-along, I know Kitey, Amanda and I have thoroughly enjoyed it!

Sassy Sardines Summer Makealong

Now that the Merry Marbles MAL has wrapped up, don’t despair! Our next Spring / Summer make-a-long 2025 is going to be launching in April 2025! In our 9th collaboration we’ll dive into a splash of colour and creativity with the Sassy Sardines Cowl – a fun and vibrant crochet adventure perfect for brightening up your wardrobe. Packed with a playful design and cheerful vibes, this project is all about celebrating the sunny season with a community of like-minded makers. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or new to the craft, grab your hooks and join the fun as we stitch up some serious summer sass!

And I’m just going to say for our 10th collaboration (Winter 2025) we are already planning something truly epic that you won’t want to miss out on!

Mischievous Magpie MAL | The Reveal & Pattern Release

Apologies for the delay with this release, the summer just flew by and I don’t know where September and October has gone! But I’m thrilled to at last share the final details of the Mischievous Magpie Shawlette with you! This shawlette was part of our 2024 summer make-a-long (MAL), and I’m beyond excited to unveil the completed pattern with all the special elements that made this project a joy to work on with each of you.

Pin for later:

Collage for Pinterest showcasing the Mischievous Magpie make-a-long, featuring images of completed shawlette

For those that weren’t aware this latest make-along was a collaboration between myself, Kitey, aka The Yarn Whisperer, and Mrs G Makes and was all about embracing the spirit of magpies—curious, playful, and just a bit mischievous!

This pattern was designed with versatility in mind. It features an elegant triangle shape that drapes effortlessly around your shoulders, perfect for those breezy evenings, early fall outings, or layering up as we head into the cooler months.

Collage featuring hand-dyed yarn inspired by magpie plumage, with skeins of semi-solid black, undyed cream, and vibrant sparkly blue tones. The yarn colours reflect the nearby images of two magpies, showcasing their contrasting black and white feathers and flashes of iridescent blue, mimicking the birds' striking, natural elegance.

As always it’s been an absolute delight to work with Kitey and his gorgeously coloured yarn, I love these collabs we do – it always provides me with an opportunity to work with gorgeous yarn which in turn makes the design process super enjoyable.

The yarn choice for the Mischievous Magpie Shawlette was inspired by the magpie’s striking plumage. Kitey perfectly captured the bold, contrasting colours and subtle sheen with a semi-solid black for depth and drama paired with an undyed yarn reminiscent of light catching on a feather’s edge. To complete the look, a touch of sparkly blue adds a wonderful pop of colour and shimmer, mirroring the flashes of iridescent blue that magpies flaunt in the sunlight.

Close-up of two stitch markers from the Mischievous Magpie make-a-long kit: one featuring a tiny enamel bird with black and white detailing, and the other an iridescent bead that catches the light with a subtle shimmer, adding a playful, magpie-inspired touch to each crochet project.

And in amongst the kit there were, as always, the cutest crochet accessories from the fabulous Mrs G Makes. Continuing the magpie theme she a cute enamel bird with black, white and blue detailing, and the other an iridescent bead that catches the light with a subtle shimmer, adding a playful, magpie-inspired touch to each crochet project.

It makes us all incredibly happy to see YOUR photos of the various stages of progress you make with your projects on social media – and I hope you will continue to do so as you finish your shawlettes’ if you haven’t had chance to make it yet.

NEW Crochet Kit | Pretty Petal Pincushion

As I sit writing this post there is a gentle breeze carrying the scent of freshly cut grass and the sun is finally casting it’s warm glow upon the earth! Spring has (finally) sprung and everywhere you look, hints of new life are emerging – buds are unfurling on branches, green shoots are peeking through the soil, and there is a promise of blossoms waiting to burst forth in a riot of colour. And what better way to celebrate than with a crochet project that captures the joy of warmer weather! Allow me to introduce the Pretty Petal Pincushion Crochet Kit – a delightful embodiment of sunshine and usefulness!

Pin It for Later:

Much like my other crochet kits this one was also released at the latest Crochet Sanctuary weekend where I was kindly allowed to bring a pop up shop,  to share with the other guests, a range of my KCACOUKYarnybobs and Dear Ewe products.

I’d actually had the idea for this pincushion awhile ago; pin cushions are such a invaluable tool, their primary function is to provide a convenient and safe place to store sewing needles and pins, and somewhere to keep them organised and easily accessible during projects. And I’m all for a bit of making it easier for me to find things when I need them!

Crocheted sunflower pincushion on a log slice, on a white wooden table. You can also see in the background the crochet kit for this sunflower pincushion.

Also by keeping needles and pins securely in place, pincushions can help prevent accidents such as pinpricks and misplaced needles, ensuring a smoother (and safer) crochet experience.

I wanted my pincushion to be not only practical but also aesthetically pleasing. I’ve always loved sunflowers, they even featured in my room decor; stencilling some as a border onto my bedroom walls in my teens. They are such cheerful flowers and they can effortlessly brighten up any space – perfect inspiration I thought for a pretty pincushion.

2 balls of 10g Lemon (Shade 280) – YARN C
1 ball of 10g Forest Green (Shade 412) – YARN D
Shaped log slice stand
10g of toy stuffing

There’s an optional extra of purchasing a premium bamboo 3mm or aluminium hook (US approx. size D/3) if you don’t have one of those to hand, and also a pack of 10 Clover marking pins – which I think are great for using with amigurumi or holding crochet pieces together.

The pattern is written in UK terms, but shipping is available to anywhere. If you are not sure about UK terms then you might find my blog post British vs. American Crochet Terms: What’s the Difference? helpful.

NEW Mini Crochet Kit | Robin Bauble Kit

December is moving far too fast for my liking and I just haven’t had a chance to tell you about a crochet new kit I have in my Etsy shop! It’s taken me a ridiculously long amount of time to hit go on this post just because I haven’t seemed to have any free time! I don’t know about you but I could do with another couple of weeks until Christmas – I think I always forget how busy things get at this time of year.

It’s the time when the red, red robin comes bob, bob, bobbing along – in fact he’s bobbed all the way to my Etsy shop as a brand new mini crochet kit.

Much like the mini crochet kits I released last year (see all the mini crochet kits here along with a big kit). This one was also released at the latest weekend Crochet Sanctuary where I was kindly allowed to bring a pop up shop to share with the other guests a range of my KCACOUKYarnybobs and Dear Ewe products.

Add a touch of festive cheer to your home with a sweet beaded robin ornament; it’s that happy bit of handmade hooking where each decoration you make will have its own personality and uniqueness!

This lovely Robin Christmas tree decoration would look beautiful on any tree. The kit makes as a single robin red breast ornament with subtle (optional) bead detail on his red breast. Each kit contains 30g of Scheepjes Catona, the pattern, a length of black embroidery thread, a silver bell, 22 sead beads, some red sewing thread and a length of twine all in a reusable christmas bauble! There’s also the optional tool extra of picking up a premium bamboo 3mm hook (US approx. size D/3) if you don’t have one of those to hand.

The pattern is written in UK terms, but shipping is available to anywhere. If you are not sure about UK terms then you might find my blog post British vs. American Crochet Terms: What’s the Difference? helpful.

Whether you’re super organised or more of a last-minute buyer, yule need to make a note of the following dates to ensure your pressies are (hopefully) delivered in time for the big day.

Last domestic posting date for any of my crochet kits is this Monday 18 December. Please shop early to avoid disappointment! I tend to send out orders as they arrive in as soon as possible, but I cannot guarantee how the post office delivery side will be at this time of year!

Need to send abroad? Not a problem – like Santa, I do deliver all over the world, however I cannot guarantee delivery will be in time for Christmas, but a gift of crochet is fun at any time of year right!.

Then as my children are breaking up from school also on the 22 December I’ll mainly be spending some quality time with my family until the new year. I got my first ever yarn advent this year from Hook and Cwtch and it’s so beautiful so far! I had a design in mind when I bought it back in January this year and I’m looking forward to having a bit of time to bring that into reality!

If you make up a robin I hope you’ll share your WIP and finished project photos with me on social media (facebooktwitter or instagram) or as a project on Ravelry – I love to see what you make! And finally you may wish to sign up to blog (below) and / or my mailing list to get a reminder when new blog posts, discounts or new pattern releases are available.

Until next time folks! Happy hooking and keep calm and crochet on my friends xx
