Lady Peaches the Rabbit was originally featured in Crochet Now magazine, issue 108, back in May 2024. The idea came to me while thinking about how sweet and summery peaches are – and how perfectly that sweetness could pair with the charm of a little bunny.
I also feel I was channelling a bit of my love for Bridgerton – if you’ve ever seen Penelope Featherington, you’ll know the peachy tones that also inspired Lady Peaches’ vibe. From her soft, huggable form to her playful expression, she’s the perfect mix of whimsy and elegance.
Lady Peaches was created with Scheepjes Stonewashed in four different shades ( 1 ball Moon Stone 801, 1 ball Morganite 834, 1 ball Rose Quartz 820 and 1 ball Peridot 827) using a 3.5mm hook (US E). hook.

That’s how the Belly Buddies were born! Designed as a quick and satisfying make, the pattern includes instructions for both the bunny and the chick, making them ideal for Easter gifts, springtime surprises, or party favours.

The pattern below is written just in UK terms but you can view a handy conversion chart here on the blog.
Skill Level: Easy
Yarn Required: Approx25g / 69yds per animal
Yarn Used in photos: Scheepjes Catona, Fingering / 4 ply; 50g, 138 yds (126 m), 100 % cotton
Suggested colours below however any colours can work for this pattern;
CHICK
YARN A – 280 Lemon OR 403 Lemonade
YARN B – 524 Apricot (Beak)
BUNNY
YARN C – 247 Bluebird OR 392 Lime Juice OR 518 Marshmallow
Hook Size(s): 3 mm (closest US size D/3). Pattern will work in other hooks and yarns though finished size may be different.
Gauge: 5dc / 5 rows = 2cm [0.8″]
Obtaining the correct gauge is critical for this project as otherwise it may not fit the 5 cm [2″] small chocolate egg size. To save time, take time to check gauge.
You will also need:
2 x 6 mm black safety eyes (per chick or bunny)
5 cm [2″] high chocolate eggs
black embroidery thread
small amount of stuffing
a yarn needle
stitch markers
scissors
Finished Dimensions: 11 cm [4.3”] chick / 13 cm [5.1″] bunny
Abbreviations
Slip Stitch (sl st) Insert hook in st indicated, yarn over and draw through all loops.
Chain (ch): Bring yarn over hook from back to front and grab it with hook. Draw hooked yarn through slip knot and onto hook.
Space (sp): The gap between stitches or chains.
Single Crochet (sc): Insert hook in st indicated and pull up a loop [two loops on hook], yarn over, pull through both loops on hook.
Pattern Notes
Magic ring: is also known as a Drawstring Ring or Magic Loop and is often used as a start for working amigurumi. If you are not familiar with this technique you could substitute with a ch2 and then work in the second ch from the hook.
Working in the round: Most of the sections of this pattern are worked in the amigurumi style without joining in continuous rounds. Place the stitch marker in the top of the first st to mark the start of each round.

Add eyes between rnds 6 -7 approx. 4 sts apart
With black thread embroider eye brows just above the eyes using the photos as a guide

Stuff the head
BUNNY ARMS Make 2. Rnd 1: With C; working into a magic ring, 8 dc. (8 sts)
Rnds 2 – 6: dc around
Fold the sides of the arms together so the stitches align. Work dc in each st. (4 sts)
Fasten off but leave a long yarn tail
BUNNY EARS Make 2. Rnd 1: With C; working into a magic ring, 6 dc. (6 sts)

As this was quite an old pattern of mine I decided that I’d like to give it a bit of a ‘glow up’ and remake it. Surprisingly I only tweaked things a little bit, but I think those edits have brought it nicely up to date and make the pattern better than it was – I love how it turned out.
Just a quick note to say I used Rico Designs Ricorumi DK (light worsted) but you don’t have to use the same yarn I used, in fact this pattern could make an awesome stashbuster for whatever cotton you might have in your stash.

Slip Stitch (sl st) Insert hook in st indicated, arn over and draw through all loops.
Double Crochet (dc): Insert hook in st indicated and pull up a loop [two loops on hook], yarn over, pull through both loops on hook.
Double Crochet 2 together (dc2tog):Invisible double crochet decrease method: Invisible decreasing is a method of removing stitches to shape your fabric without gaps. Insert hook in the FRONT LOOP ONLY of the first stitch indicated and pull up a loop [two loops on hook], insert hook in the FRONT LOOP ONLY of the next st, pull up a loop [three loops on hook], yarn over, pull through three loops on hook; decrease made.
Back Loop Only (BLO): If you hold your piece of crochet in front of you with the Vs of the stitch on top, the part of the V closest to you is the front loop. The part of the V farther away from you on the opposite side is the back loop. When a pattern asks you to crochet into the back loop, insert your hook into the relevant loop and crochet as instructed.

MAKING UP:
Ears: Sew the ears either side of the top of the head over rnds 2 – 5 approximately 2 sts apart.
Arms: Sew arms into place on side of the Body over rnds 15 – 17 creating a loop so that candy / carrot can be placed in the arm holes.
Legs: Making sure that the bunny can stand upright attach the legs onto the front of the body on rnds 26 approx. 4 sts apart
Tail: Making sure that the bunny can stand upright attach tail centrally on the back of the bunny
Carrot: Attach the top of the carrot to the carrot bottom and add to one of the arm loops.

As you may know, with the closure of Deramores, I’m slowly working my way through the old patterns I had with them to transfer them over to MY pattern shops, I’m sorry it’s taking awhile; I’m trying to get through them as and when I’ve got a bit of free time.
From their floppy ears to their powder puff tails, each bunny exudes personality and charm which could add a seasonal touch to your Easter decorations. They are very easy to personalise by picking yarn colours to match your favourite pets.
I used a DK weight yarn (light worsted), and I’m suggesting Paintbox Simply DK (instead of the original Deramores Studio DK). Paintbox Simply DK is a 100% premium acrylic yarn that comes in 100g (276m) and is available in a wide variety of colours.
I used a 3mm hook (closest US size D/3) and the colours I’ve suggested are 1 ball of Paper White (100), Soft Fudge (109), Coffee Bean (110)and a bit of Bubblegum Pink (150) for the nos., Other than that you would need two pairs of 12mm black safety eyes, some stitch markers, some toy filler, pins and a yarn needle to sew all the pieces together.
The 5 page pattern comes in either UK or US terms with full descriptions of any stitch abbreviations. It’s classed as an “easy” pattern which I’m hoping anyone new to crochet, along with more experienced crocheters will enjoy.

“Red and yellow and pink and green, purple and orange and blue, I can sing a rainbow, sing a rainbow, sing a rainbow too!” Envelop yourself in rainbows with the Chevron Spectrum Wrap!
Today I’m doing an independent release of the rainbow Chevron Spectrum Wrap which first appeared in in Happily HookedMagazine (Issue 94) back in January 2022.
This colourful piece is sure to put a smile on your face! It was one of my absolute favourite makes of 2022 and was inspired by both the yarn and my idea for the stitch which I think came together perfectly.
I used a Scheepjes Whirl in Jumping Jelly (shade 759) combined with a Scheepjes Whirlette in Chewy (shade 865) with a 3.25mm hook (US size D/3).
Both the whirls and the whirlettes are a 60% Cotton, 40% Acrylic 4ply (fingering weight). The larger whirl comes in a 220g (1000 metres) cake, and the whirlettes are 100g (455m) solid colour balls designed to compliment whirl colours. However I wanted a bit of a stormy contrast to my rainbow which is why I chose the grey.
This delightful chevron wrap is perfect for combining solid and gradient yarn for an overall fun zig zag ombre effect, the whirls are perfect though I’ve also seen some beautiful versions using hand-dyed yarn – you could substitute with any similar sock / fingering weight yarns (though you may wish to check your gauge).
The pattern is available in both UK and US terms and I’ve included a chart as a helpful visual guide. The wrap is worked in row repeat making it a nice mindful pattern once you get into the swing of things. I would suggest it’s suitable for a more intermediate crocheter – though there is nothing to stop an adventurous beginner having a go!

As you know I’m slowly working my way through old Deramores patterns to add to my pattern shops and as we are now most definitely in pumpkin season there no more appropriate time for me to re-release my Chunky Pumpkins.
This time of year I can’t help but make some pumpkins (watch this space for some more coming soon!), and I don’t think I’m the only one, if you happen to be scrolling through Instagram you’ll have potentially seen all the lovely pumpkins that have been made.
Different from other pumpkin patterns I’ve made before, these next pumpkins are pretty much life sized! The biggest measures in with a diameter of 62cm and the smallest still has a substantial 43cm diameter.
My chunky pumpkins are made from, well you’ve probably guessed it, chunky (bulky) yarn and as a consequence they don’t take long to make. They also have the most fabulous texture too, which was something I’d not tried before with other pumpkins I’ve designed before – the end result I think is very pleasing.
The yarn alternative I have suggested for the Chunky Pumpkins (instead of the original Deramores Chunky) is Paintbox Yarns Simply Chunky which is a 100% premium acrylic yarn that comes in 100g balls (136m / 149yds). I used a 6.5mm (US size K) hook and the colours I’ve suggested are Blood Orange (319) and Coffee Bean (310). Other than that you would need some stitch markers, 400g of toy filler, pins and a yarn needle to sew all the pieces together.
The 3 page pattern comes in either UK or US terms with full descriptions of any stitch abbreviations. It’s classed as an “beginner” pattern which I’m hoping anyone new to crochet, along with more experienced crocheters will enjoy.

As you know I’m slowly working my way through old Deramores patterns to add to my pattern shops. As we are moving towards Spring, and an Easter-ish sort of time I thought I’d continue with the rabbit theme – so the next pattern that I have been able to re-format is Bexley the Bunny Rabbit.
Bexley is a carrot farmer who is quite ear-resistable in his cute dungarees with his freshly picked carrot from his bumper crop.
As I originally made my bunny out of Deramores yarn, which, although LoveCrafts are selling stock they have acquired, they cannot guarantee future yarn availability. I therefore made the decision to offer alternative yarn in the pattern which mean the suggested yarn colours may vary from colours shown in the photographs.
The yarn suggestions I chose are for the cuddle bunny I believe are very close alternatives; I chose Paintbox Simply DK which is a 100% premium acrylic yarn that comes in 100g (276m) – so a bit longer in length than Deramores DK, which I used with a 3.25mm (US size D/3) hook.
For your Bunny you only need 1 ball of Paper White (Shade 100) and a small amount of 1 ball of Bubblegum Pink (Shade 150). Other than that you would need some 9mm safety eyes, stitch markers, toy filler, pins and a yarn needle to sew all the pieces together.
Bexley is now ready to be ad-hop-ted by you! As it’s coming up to Easter you might be thinking about making some bunnies – though this little fellow would be a perfect for animal loving friends and family, or just as a lovely Spring project.
The 7 page pattern comes in either UK or US terms with full descriptions of any stitch abbreviations. It’s classed as an “intermediate” pattern as it might be a bit tricky for a new crocheter without an understanding of crocheting in the round and putting together and shaping amigurumi.
Please bear with me with regards to re-releasing the old Deramores patterns, it can take up to a whole day to reformat and upload to various shops, so it will be a work in progress – though do let me know if there’s a pattern you’d really love to see come next and I’ll see what I can do!

Hey folks, hope you are all well, I’ve got an ear-resistibly cute pattern to share with you today, some cute Dutch Bunnies! These little guys make me so hoppy!
Easily identifiable by there characteristic colour patterns these little bunnies are ready to be ad-hop-ted! Essentially, Dutch Bunnies are a white rabbit, with a colored base coat like black, brown, grey or tortoiseshell.
For my little Dutch Bunnies I used Deramores Studio DK in Frost (White), Chocolate and Gingerbread with a 3mm hook. But it would be easy to match your own pet colour if that’s something you wanted to try, as there are lots of different natural shades, in the Studio DK range, to choose from.
If you aren’t familiar with Deramores Studio DK it’s 100% acrylic anti-piling yarn which is fab for any projects that might see a lot of wear and tear – like cuddly bunnies!
So why not go make one fur the fun of it! If you do make up the Dutch Bunnies I hope you will share pictures of your little rabbits on socials using the hashtag #Deramoresand #kcacouk so we can share your wonderful work.
