Hello my lovelies! Iโm so thrilled to share my latest pattern releases with you. As the nights grow longer and the festive season starts to shimmer, thereโs nothing quite as cosy and joyful as crocheting a few holiday characters.
Thatโs why Iโm delighted to announce the brand-new Christmas Amigurumi Bookazine from Crochet Society. Inside, youโll discover eight of my patterns nestled among a collection of wonderfully festive designs โ and six of them are completely new, never-before-seen seasonal favourites!
First up – we couldnโt possibly have a Christmas book without the iconic duo themselves: Santa and Mrs Claus! These two bring all the cosy, classic festive charm we adore. Santa is ready for his Christmas Eve adventures in his traditional red suit, complete with a jolly smile and fluffy beard, while Mrs Claus adds a dash of homely warmth with her sweet apron, kind smile, and her signature glasses perched on her nose. Whether you display them together on the mantelpiece or let them take pride of place by the tree, this cheerful pair is sure to fill your home with holiday spirit and handmade magic.
Next up, we have a couple of Santaโs most dedicated helpers โ Tinsel the Head Elf and Dasher the Reindeer! Tinsel is full of festive energy, always busy in the workshop making sure every toy is ready for Christmas Eve. With his cheerful grin, pointy hat, and a sprinkle of sparkling mischief, he brings playful fun to the season. And where would Santa be without his reindeer? This adorable little reindeer is bursting with excitement, proudly practicing for the big night and ready to help guide the sleigh. Together, this charming pair brings teamwork, giggles, and a whole lot of Christmas magic to your crochet collection!
Finally, we have a couple of cheerful festive chaps: Crispin the Snowman and Cinnamon the Gingerbreadman! Crispin is full of wintry charm, with his carrot nose, cozy scarf, and cheerful smile โ the perfect companion for snowy days or a playful touch on your mantel. Cinnamon, on the other hand, brings a sweet and spiced touch to your festive dรฉcor, with his jolly expression and delightful gingerbread details that make him impossible not to love. Together, these two add warmth, whimsy, and a sprinkle of holiday cheer to your crochet collection.
One of the best things about this bookazine is just how premium it feels. Itโs beautifully thick, more like a proper book than a magazine, yet still flexible, without a hard cover. Sized around A4, itโs easy to read and handle while youโre crocheting, and with 111 pages of festive patterns, tips, and inspiration, thereโs plenty to keep you busy all season long. It really feels like a special keepsake youโll want to return to year after year.
Exciting news – Iโve got a small stash of the Christmas Amigurumi Bookazine that Iโll be bringing along to pop-ups and craft shows for the rest of this year and into next! If youโd like to grab a copy in person, this is the perfect opportunity to pick one up, chat about the patterns, and maybe even get a few tips straight from me. I canโt wait to see some of you at the shows and share the festive crochet fun in person!
Or you can purchase the book online from The Crochet Society website. The book is priced at just ยฃ9.99 / $13.28 โ thatโs roughly ยฃ0.52 / $0.69 per pattern, making it a real bargain! You can purchase your copy directly via the link below. The books are usually delivered within 2-5 working days so order yours now if you want it in time for Christmas.
Iโm honoured that eight of my patterns have found a place in this special holiday release, and I canโt wait to see how crocheters around the world will bring them to life.
Wishing you some warm, woolly, and wonderfully festive crafting…. and as always, keep calm and crochet on my friends xx

The twinkle lights are coming on, the tree is whispering its silent invitation to be put up, and somehow December has slipped up on us again. If youโre anything like me, you might find yourself glancing at the calendar, heart pounding, and thinking: โHow is Christmas so close already – and I havenโt even started the handmade gifts!โ
Thatโs exactly why Iโm thrilled to welcome you to this yearโs Holiday Magic Gifts Hop, curated by Green Fox Farm Designs, with your rescue plan for last-minute gifts!
๐ Whatโs the Holiday Magic Gifts Hop?
The Holiday Magic Gifts Hop is a curated collection of quick, easy to make crochet patterns – all selected to help you whip up thoughtful gifts in a flash. Each day between 6 – 21 December 2025, a new pattern will be revealed from a different designer. Even better: each featured pattern will be available for just ยฃ1.50 / $2 for 24 hours.
These are not your โtakes-weeks-of-dedicationโ crochet patterns. Theyโre the kind of projects you can finish in under two hours, perfect for squeezing in between holiday prep, work, and festive madness.
How the event works:
Each morning during the Hop a new pattern is added to the main Hop post.
Click through to the featured designerโs page and download the PDF for just ยฃ1.50 / $2 (available for 24 hours only).
Gather your yarn and hooks, choose your colours, and create away – usually in under 2 hours.
Designers participate in blog hops to share their patterns with a wider audience, support fellow creators, and introduce new crocheters to their work. Itโs a fun, collaborative way to build community, boost visibility, and offer makers exciting new projects to enjoy together.
Please make sure to share your appreciation with all the designers taking part by giving them and me a ‘heart’ on Ravelry and / or if you like their stuff, a follow on socials – every little interaction really helps us as designers to keep on designing.
So forget ‘last-minute panic’, go grab a hook, dust off your yarn, and letโs make this Christmas a little more cosy, a little more creative and a whole lot more handcrafted. ๐งก
Until next time folks! Happy hooking, keep calm and crochet on my friends xx

Time for my October reading recap for the 2025 Crochet Book Blanket project! I always post a month behind, so itโs the perfect time to look back on what I read in October. The crisp autumn days made for some wonderfully cosy reading sessions, and I loved watching both my blanket and my book list grow. Who else is embracing the season with a stack of good books and a warm blanket?
Pin for later:
As we move into the last quarter of the year, Iโm finding it a little harder to keep up – but Iโm making sure to set aside some time for reading (and crocheting!) even if it’s not as prolific as earlier in the year, and posting these updates definitely helps keep me accountable.
The Vision for the Book Afghan
To maintain cohesion, Iโve used the same block pattern for the entire afghan (grab the free pattern here), working with yarn from my stash and selecting colours that reflect the bookโs cover design. The ultimate goal? A warm, meaningful blanket that doubles as a literary keepsake.
Synopsis:Apples Never Fall follows the Delaney family, former tennis coaches whose lives unravel when Joy Delaney mysteriously disappears. As suspicion falls on both her husband and a strange young woman who recently entered their lives, the Delaney siblings must confront hidden family tensions and long-held secrets to uncover the truth. Not my favourite Moriarty book, but she’s still a great storyteller, and she creates great characters so I’ll continue working my way through all of her novels.
Synopsis:The Couple’s Revenge is a psychological thriller about a family pushed to the brink after their teenage son is bullied – and badly hurt. When school and police intervention fail, the parents decide to take matters into their own hands. Their love and fear for their child spiral them into a dangerous path of vengeance, forcing them to confront how far theyโre willing to go to protect him. I personally found the characters and plot a wee bit far fetched and quite predictable – and I felt the bully theme had been done before, but better.
Synopsis:Plain Truth centres on an Amish community shaken when a newborn is found dead in a barn and a teenage Amish girl becomes the prime suspect. A big-city defence attorney takes on the case and must navigate cultural divides, hidden trauma, and buried truths. As the investigation unfolds, everyone is forced to question guilt, innocence, and the powerful pull of belonging. Like most of Jodi’s stories I love how they all feature a complex moral dilemma, I enjoyed the provocative storyline and found the insights into Amish life really interesting.
Synopsis:The Woman Who Met Herself tells the story of two women in their sixties – Ruth Waverley and Debbie Jones – whose lives take an astonishing turn when Debbie, working as a charity fundraiser, knocks on Ruthโs door only for them to discover they look exactly alike. Shocked by the uncanny resemblance, the two strangers form a bond and begin to unravel a connection neither expected, triggering revelations about identity, family, loss and second chances. The novel explores grief, self-discovery and how sometimes startling coincidences can upend everything – even late in life. Loved the premise for this story; identical twins who have never met. Would be a lovely holiday read.
Synopsis:The Devil Wears Scrubs follows first-year medical resident Dr. Jane McGill as she battles exhaustion, impossible expectations, and the notoriously cruel senior resident who seems determined to make her life miserable. Amid chaotic shifts, medical mishaps, and darkly funny moments, Jane must find her confidence, and her compassion, to survive the pressures of hospital life and prove she belongs in the world of medicine. A different book from the usual thriller from McFadden, this is a quick and easy romance. I especially enjoyed the percentage of how much Jane might quit her job at the end of each chapter.

Iโm so excited to finally be able to share a little festive secret Iโve been keepingโฆ though if you follow me on Instagram then you may have already had a few sneaky peeps. This year, I had the absolute pleasure of contributing a brand-new pattern, Father Tedmas, to a very special e-book created for Little Box of Crochet.
ยฉย The Little Book of Merry Crochet Makes 2025
If youโve followed Little Box of Crochet (LBC) for a while, youโll know just how much light Justine brings to the crochet community. This year hasnโt been an easy one for her, so some of the LBC designers wanted to do something to lift her spirits and show just how loved she is.
Orchestrated by the lovely Nicky from A Heart Shaped Cherry, myself and a group of designers quietly gathered together behind the scenes to create something joyful. The result? The Little Book of Merry Crochet Makes – a collection of festive crochet patterns each one donated with love. This e-book is our way of wrapping Justine in a big, yarny hug – and sharing that warmth with all of you.
โจ 12 festive patterns from the designers you know and love โจ All patterns written in UK crochet terms โจ Each pattern kept in the original voice of its designer โจ Instagram tags so you can follow, support, and say hello to the makers โจ A whole bundle of holiday joy
As mentioned all the patterns are written in UK terms, but as it’s a digital e-book the patterns are available to anywhere. If you are not sure about UK terms then you might find my blog postย British vs. American Crochet Terms: Whatโs the Difference?ย helpful.
There is such a fab range of patterns with levels from ‘easy’ to ‘intermediate’ that you can work your way through, and as we hit the mid-November point of the month, its the perfect time to start thinking about Christmas crochet projects.
๐ Meet Father Tedmas
My contribution, Father Tedmas, is a cheerful, festive fellow whoโs ready to spread some seasonal sparkle. He was a joy to design, and I hope he brings just as much joy to anyone who hooks him up. Whether he becomes part of your dรฉcor, a gift, or a little companion on your crafting sofa, heโs made with merriment in mind.
It really is a gorgeous collection, and Iโm honoured to be part of it.
๐ Where to Get Your Copy
The book is priced at ยฃ14.99 / $19.66 which is less than ยฃ1.25 / $1.63 per pattern. You can purchase the e-book directly from Little Box of Crochet – itโs available now, and every purchase helps support Justine and keeps this wonderful community thriving.
Whether you grab the book, share a post, or simply send a kind thought – thank you. This project has been a heartfelt one for all of us, and your support means the world.
Wishing you some warm, woolly, and wonderfully festive crafting…. and as always, keep calm and crochet on my friends xx

Hey there, crochet friends! Iโm thrilled to re-introduce to you today the Cherie Plaid Wrap – a beautifully large and cosy wearable accessory that brings instant warmth, texture and style to your wardrobe. Perfect for layering over a favourite sweater on brisk mornings or snuggling up by the fire on colder evenings, this wrap is both elegant and delightfully cosy.
Pin for Later:
The Cherie Plaid Wrap was originally featured in the October 2021 issue of I Like Crochetย magazine and is a wrap is constructed from carefully placed motifs that combine to create a classic plaid effect.
Made to drape beautifully, the wrap finishes with a playful fringe that adds movement and personality. Itโs a satisfying make: the rhythmic repeat of the motifs is relaxing to crochet, and the final result looks far more intricate than the stitches involved.
The stitches themselves are quite simple, but I wanted to explore plaid in a fresh way. I combined colourwork with granny-square clusters to create a unique motif. When these motifs are joined together they form a beautifully distinctive plaid effect.
Lovely and versatile the Cheri Wrap is great for getting cosy on a chilly day, just throw it over yourself like a blanket, letting it cover your shoulders and arms, you have a eye-catching look thatโs a winter winner!

Hey there, crochet friends! The count down for Christmas is on for us crocheters so Iโm absolutely wrapped up with excitement to introduce my newest design – meet Noel Nibbles, the tiniest, most festive mouse in town! With his rosy cheeks, twinkling eyes, and a perfectly perched Santa hat, this charming little ornament is ready to bring a touch of handmade magic to your Christmas tree.
Pin for Later:
This tiny Christmas mouse brings heaps of festive charm in a small package. Whether heโs peeking out from the branches of your tree, perched atop a wrapped gift, or adding a dash of cheer to your holiday mantle, this miniature ornament sprinkles handmade magic wherever he goes.
Noel is a lovely quick make, he came together for me over just a couple of cosy evenings, and I think youโll find he works up surprisingly fast for such a detailed little character. Iโd say he sits at an intermediate skill level, simply because youโll want to be comfortable with amigurumi-style crochet, shaping, and working in the round to get his tiny features just right. And if youโd like to play with size, heโs wonderfully flexible: use a thicker yarn and larger hook to create a slightly bigger, more huggable mouse, or switch to finer yarn and a smaller hook if you want an even tinier version to tuck into your tree.
For Noel Nibbles, I used Scheepjes Catona, which is one of my absolute favourite yarns to work with. Itโs a lovely 100% cotton, a 4-ply that comes in 10g, 25g or 50g balls (138 yards / 126 metres), and it gives such beautiful stitch definition on small amigurumi makes. I paired it with a 3 mm hook (the closest US size is D/3), which helped keep him neat, compact, and full of character. His finished size is approximately 7.5 cm [2.9โ] high.

Hey lovelies, how are you doing? Well yesterday we went to our local Christmas Tree switch on and as there’s now less than 6 weeks before the big day, I’ll confess that my thoughts are now turned towards the festive season.
With that in mind let me introduce you to Razzle and Dazzle – two cheeky little elves who have hopped straight out of the pages of Crochet Now Issue 127. With twinkling eyes and vibrant colourful outfits, theyโre the perfect festive companions to add to your handmade dรฉcor or to surprise someone special this season.

Meet the Elves
Razzle (in the blue) is the daring dreamer, always leaping from one snow-covered ledge to the next, while Dazzle (in the purple) is the clever tinkerer who loves to hide surprise candy canes and sparkly baubles around the room. Together they bring mischief, magic and merriment wherever they go – and now you can crochet them for your own festive adventures.
For both of my elves I usedย Ricorumi DK, one of my all-time favourite yarns. This 100% cotton yarn comes in handy 25g balls (57.5m) and is available in a wide range of options. I also used some Ricorumi Twinkly Twinkly which is also cotton yarn but includes a glittering thread because you’ve got to have a bit of sparkle at Christmas I feel.
These elves would make wonderful gifts for children (or big kids!) and could be a delightful addition to festive dรฉcor – whether perched on a mantel or tucked into a stocking. They also make a joyful โcrochet duoโ project: you can change colours, mix and match accessories, and give each elf their own personality.

You may remember that back in December 2024, I had the privilege of visiting Longest Yarn Exhibition exhibition for the first time – and I was absolutely blown away by it. The creativity, craftsmanship, and sheer scale of that original installation were unlike anything Iโd ever seen before. So when I heard there would be a second instalment, I knew I had to try and visit. And what better day to share it with you than Armistice Day, when we all pause to remember the bravery and resilience of those who lived through war.
Following the success of the original exhibition, The Longest Yarn 2: Britain at War builds upon the same heartfelt storytelling – this time focusing on what life was like in Britain between 3 September 1939, when war was declared, and 8 May 1945, VE Day.
The exhibition features 80 brand-new panels of โwool art,โ each one metre long, depicting key moments and experiences from the Second World War. From The Kingโs Speech to D-Day, The Blitz, the Home Guard, the Womenโs Land Army, rationing, and much more, each piece offers a vivid, tactile snapshot of wartime Britain – all told through the medium of yarn.
Once again, I found myself completely mesmerised by the artistry on display. Every stitch, every colour choice, every carefully rendered detail spoke volumes about the love, dedication, and skill poured into this project.
Accompanying the panels is an extraordinary set of eight life-size wool figures, collectively titled โArmy of Duty Calls.โ These represent the many faces of service and sacrifice during the war; from a Land Girl to a Spitfire Pilot, each crafted with astonishing detail and care. Standing among them feels almost like stepping back in time. I was particularly blown away with the piper Bill Millin, the attention to detail was just astonishing!
I could easily have spent hours photographing each panel – but instead, Iโve chosen a small selection of images to share with you here, to give you just a taste of this unforgettable experience.
The level of detail in each yarn creation was truly astounding. Guided by historians to ensure historical accuracy, every scene was thoughtfully chosen by its creator to tell the story of this momentous period in history, each one unique, heartfelt, and crafted with exceptional care.
From evacuees and bombed houses to families sheltering in the Underground and incredibly detailed machinery, every panel captured such poignant moments in yarn that it completely blew my mind how thoughtfully each one had been constructed. It was so clear how much love and effort had gone into every piece. I couldnโt help but marvel at how each crocheter and knitter had managed to convey such depth and emotion through yarn – itโs nothing short of genius.
As I mentioned in my original blog post, the exhibition actually began as an idea by Tansy Forster, who was inspired by the post box toppers and yarn bombing events seen around the UK. She initially planned to create a small topper for her garden wall in Houesville to mark the 80th anniversary, but after chatting with a few friends and fellow knitters, the idea quickly grew and grew!
After touring the UK and Ireland, drawing more than 250,000 visitors, the original Longest Yarn is now on display in the United States for a year-long exhibition. I doubt Tansy ever imagined it would evolve into such an incredible worldwide exhibition, let alone lead to a whole second instalment. Personally, Iโm hoping thereโll be a third one in the future!
As before what truly made the exhibition so special was the incredible sense of community woven through every crocheted and knitted stitch. Each panel told its own story, lovingly created by individuals and groups who poured their hearts into preserving this important part of our history. Itโs a beautiful reminder of how creativity not only connects us to the past but also inspires those who will carry these stories forward into the future.
The Longest Yarn 2 exhibition is currently touring Great Britain and Northern Ireland and will continue through to the end of 2027. Itโs free to attend, ensuring that everyone has the chance to experience this remarkable creative tribute.
However, the project receives no formal funding and relies entirely on public generosity to keep it on the road. A ยฃ5 donation is suggested, which helps cover essential travel and setup costs – a small price to pay to support such a meaningful and inspiring initiative.
If you get the chance to see it for yourself, I thoroughly recommend it. Itโs a moving, beautifully made reminder of our shared history โ and a celebration of the power of art, craft, and community spirit.
Just a little side note. As we remember those who served, Iโm also continuing to raise money for the Royal British Legion through sales of my poppy crochet pattern. Itโs a small way to give back and to honour those who gave so much – and Iโm so grateful to everyone whoโs supported this cause so far.
If youโd like to crochet your own poppy and help support the Poppy Appeal, you can find all the original details (and the pattern link) in my post here: ๐ Pattern Re-Release: Poppy Appeal
Until next time folks! Happy hooking, keep calm and crochet on my friends xx
Iโm so happy to share with you my latest pattern thatโs featured in Issue 183 of Inside Crochet magazine โ please may I introduce the Stellaris Bag ๐
The Stellaris Bag is a simple but different crochet accessory that combines clean lines with the subtle sparkle of beads. Itโs worked using a straightforward stitch pattern, and then brought to life with simple beadwork, crocheting with them as you go, that was designed to catch the light just like tiny constellations scattered across the night sky.
The name Stellaris comes from the Latin word for โstarry,โ and thatโs exactly the mood I wanted to capture โ something elegant, a touch magical, and a joy to make. The addition of beads may look intricate, but the technique is really beginner-friendly and adds a stunning effect without overcomplicating the process.
For this design, I used Drops Nord Mix, 50g; 45% alpaca, 30% Polyamide, 25% wool (Deep Ocean Mix 09) a smooth, lightweight yarn that gives great stitch definition and just the right amount of drape for a bag. The yarnโs soft sheen complements the sparkle of the sead beads perfectly, making it a stylish little statement piece. You can, of course, personalise your bag with different bead colours โ think silver for moonlight shimmer or gold for a touch of sunshine glow.
I loved how this project turned out; if youโre looking to add a bit of handmade flair to your wardrobe then go grab your copy of Inside Crochet Magazine Issue 177.
This issue is an absolute treat for anyone who loves all things celestial! Aptly themed around โa star-studded line-up of celestial inspired projectsโ, itโs filled with cosy makes inspired by the sun, moon and stars. Itโs such a dreamy collection to be part of, and my Stellaris Bag is a little piece of starlight amongst them!

Hey lovelies, hope you are all well. Bit of advance warning, I’m going to be mentioning the ‘C’ word in this post. I know, I know – but itโs the beginning of November (already!), and us crocheters need a bit of prep time, am I right? So without further ado I’m delighted to share with you today a new pattern featured in Simply Crochet issue 168. Allow me to introduce Argyll the Reindeer – a charming little character whoโs bound to bring some handmade holiday cheer to your hook this season.
Argyll is more than just a Christmas ornament; heโs a handmade friend who gives your home that warm, cosy holiday spirit. With his antlers, sweet face, and stout little body, heโs ideal as a hearth decoration or a whimsical gift for someone who adores handmade touches.
Sometimes a tiny decoration just wonโt do am I right? You want something that really makes a statement. Standing proudly at around 36cm (14in) tall, Argyll is the reindeer for the job!
Argyll is a lovely easy make for adventurous beginners – the pattern uses simple stitches and clear shaping, so you can build confidence as you go. The only slightly fiddly part is his little scarf, but donโt let that put you off! Once you get your hook moving, it quickly comes together and adds such a charming finishing touch to his look. Before you know it, youโll have a reindeer thatโs ready to dash straight into your festive dรฉcor.
I used Yarnspirationsย Caron Simply Softย Aran (170.1gย /ย 288m.ย 100%ย Acrylic) in Feathered Gray, Pagoda and Plum Perfect with a bit of Yarnspirationsย Caron Simply Soft Partyย Aran (85g / 150m.1%โฏMetalized Polyester, 99%โฏAcrylic)ย Fuchsia Sparkle – because what’s Christmas if you can’t have a bit of glitz!
Then the only other things you need for Argyll the Reindeer are:
Issue 168 of Simply Crochet magazine is available in print via UK newsagents and craft shops, or you can obtain a digital copy through the Simply Crochet website or apps as aย digital issue.
I absolutely canโt wait to see your versions of Argyll the Reindeer. Whether heโs classic brown, snowy white, or something completely offbeat – donโt forget to tag me on social media so I donโt miss them.
